Doorway into Grace

This past fall, a small group met for six weekday evenings in Riverview. Supper was provided by a different team of parishioners each week as a gift to participants. There were presentations and then discussion about what it means to be a Eucharistic community. There was plenty of time to get to know each other, and to reflect on our common life in Christ. Reviews were excellent, and it was suggested we go for Part Two, and invite both old and new participants.

So we are now announcing our plans! Doorway into Grace will enjoy the same supper, presentation, and conversation format, but a new curriculum and on Wednesday evenings in the Parish Hall. The Baptismal Covenant will be the theme. Doorway into Grace begins January 11th, 5:30 p.m.

Who’s invited? You are! Especially if:

  • you are a “graduate” of the original Pathway to Grace group in the fall, or
  • you are exploring the possibility of becoming an Episcopalian by confirmation or “reception” from another branch of Christianity (Bishop Hollerith is coming on May 20th for Confirmation), or
  • you’ve been coming to Grace for a while, but haven’t gotten connected to a ministry or group yet, and are looking for a starting point, or
  • you have questions about just what Christians believe, what’s distinctive about the Episcopal Church, or how you fit into this community of faith, or
  • you’re curious and open-minded, and think a home-cooked dinner on Wednesday evenings sound inviting!

If you’d like to know more about Doorway into Grace, ask Connie Jones, Karen Smith, Kathy Michaels or Lynn or David Grimsley. Participants need to sign up so that we can plan for dinner and seating. There’s a sign-up sheet in the Parish Hall.  Please come!
