November 2015 Vestry Minutes

The Riverview Renovation Committee joined the Vestry for the first part of November's meeting, and they reported on renovation and capital campaign plans. The Vestry voted to loan $20,000 for capital campaign costs, and $30,000 to the Renovation Committee for architectural and engineering planning. The Rector reported that Episcopal Church polices on health insurance for employees will affect our budget for 2016. The Assoc. Rector noted that after Grace Church becomes a "participating parish" with the Bishop's permission, marriage policies will be identical for same-sex and opposite-sex couples who seek to be married at Grace. The new rite for marriage (which was read through at an open meeting for the parish community on November 8th)and the Book of Common Prayer rite will both be available to couples. A new alcohol-use policy for the parish was adopted. The Vestry also voted to place all undesignated bequests to Grace in the Endowment, though those funds will be available to the Vestry for use. A motion passed to hire a temporary assistant to the sexton for the remainder of the calendar year.
