Cyclist Hospitality Ministry

Over the past several years the Cyclist Support Group has hosted cyclists beginning or ending the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail from many different countries, including the Netherlands, The United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and Korea for potluck lunch or accommodations in homes or in Riverview.  Some have been given rides to and from airports, bus and train stations, others to the all important bike shop! 

This ministry began in 2003 with 15 guest cyclists recorded in the Register.  The register is a moving account of this ministry.  Here is an example: 

It almost feels like the reason I pedaled 4,000 miles was to get to this cottage overlooking the river and the bay.  Having no answers for all the people along the way who asked, 'What are you going to do when you finish?" it would have been only with obvious sarcasm that I would have replied, "repair to a dozy, little place on the bluff, taking my time to soak it all in.'
