Over the past several years the Cyclist Support Group has hosted cyclists beginning or ending the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail from many different countries, including the Netherlands, The United Kingdom, Australia, South Africa, and Korea for potluck lunch or accommodations in homes or in Riverview. Some have been given rides to and from airports, bus and train stations, others to the all important bike shop!
This ministry began in 2003 with 15 guest cyclists recorded in the Register. The register is a moving account of this ministry. Here are some examples:
Thank you John (Oppenhuizen) and all the members of Grace Church for the very warm welcome and generosity during my two-day stay at the brick house. Tomorrow, May 5, 2016, is the start of my adventure that I have been long dreaming about. Next time, I hope I can visit again with my family.

I started at my home in Westminster, SC, and rode through Clemson University where I've worked for the past 20 years. From there, I rode to Charleston, SC, and up the coast to Yorktown. From here, I head west to Oregon. Moments and happenstance on this trip so far have been incredible, and this place and your hospitality has been an incredible highlight that I will always treasure in my memories. Thank you. I could not imagine a better way to start my western adventure.

Well, I guess this is it. I am one, like so many others, who was crazy enough to ride a bike across the United States! It has been quite the adventure! There were plenty of days where tossing my bike over a mountain seemed like a logical option, but the good days far outweighed the bad ones. I have seen so many great things and have met some incredibly awesome people. This was a great place to finish the trip! Thank you so much for opening up this oasis at the finish line and for all the hospitality. "Til (possibly) next time!
