A Lenten Companion

Welcome to our Lenten Companion!  Readers are encouraged to check in each day as a spiritual discipline. You will find the Daily Office readings, accompanied by a reflection written by a Grace Church parishioner.

If you are accessing this site on the road, so to speak, and do not have a Bible available, here is a link (http://bible.oremus.org) to an easy-to-use resource where you may simply type in the passage you are looking for and find a variety of Bible translations to choose from.

For an even richer experience, check out missionstclare.com, a great resource that features an entire morning prayer service with the Daily Office readings embedded – and there's even music! Our own Rev. Connie Jones recommended this as a way to simplify daily individual worship, as a sort of companion to our Companion.

May these resources be useful tools for the journey as our community makes its way through the 40 days to Easter. And if you are in the area, we hope you will worship with us, especially during Lent and Easter. Special service dates and times are posted elsewhere on this site.

Peace be with you -

Debra Boyce

Welcome.   May this website be a portal, a threshold to cross and enter the life of a vibrant Christian community, whether you've never attended a service here or you've come here for years. The people of Grace seek to extend a welcome to all kinds of people - from the completely convinced to the seriously doubtful. We love children and are willing to tangle with thorny issues. We do ministry among ourselves and reach out to the larger world. We enjoy a variety of musical experience, huge potluck dinners and creative, outdoor Easter celebrations alongside quiet, traditional worship services.

If you're already a member, my hope is this website helps you stay informed and connected. If you're looking for a church, either for one service or to make your spiritual home, may it provide just enough that you're intrigued and want to discover for yourself what is bubbling and alive right now here in this uniquely beautiful parish that's well over 300 years old. Early in his ministry, Jesus said to some who were curious about him, "Come and see." My invitation is the same. If you'd like to know more about this community, look at this website and then "come and see."

Many thanks to Brenda Moore,  Jerry Twigg, Gerry Lopez, and Vance Field for setting up the display for the Grace Archives at the History Fair.  Brenda represented Grace Church all day to the many visitors.  Thanks to all those who attended to enjoy history and carrot cake!
